First lithium LGMG tele booms for Briggs
The first eight LGMG lithium battery powered Rough Terrain telescopic booms in Europe have been purchased by Dublin based sales and rental company Briggs Equipment Ireland. The new models were announced a month ago with shipments due to begin shortly. See:
Four new lithium boom lifts from LGMG.
The initial eight machines include the 65ft T20JE, the 72ft T22JE, and the 92ft T28JE, with working heights of 21.8, 23.8 and 29.8 metres and outreaches of 16.6, 17.0 and 22.5 metres respectively. All models are dual capacity - 300kg unrestricted and 450kg with restricted outreach - with 360 degree continuous slew. All units are equipped with 2.4 metre wide triple entry platforms, four wheel drive, four wheel steer, with one touch wheel alignment and oscillating axles. Overall weights range from 12 tonnes for the T20JE to 18.7 tonnes for the T28JE.
LGMG claims that its lithium ion battery packs allow the platforms to operate for two to three days of typical usage before needing to recharge.

The company also ordered a 46ft A14JE electric articulated boom lift. The new machines will be delivered during the third quarter by UK/Ireland distributor Access Platform Sales.

Briggs will initially take eight booms including the T20JE, T22JE and 28JE

Also, with increasing diesel prices, the cost difference between diesel and electric platforms for is beginning to equalise, which is bringing down barriers to moving to using electric work platforms."

LGMG claims two to three days of typical usage between recharges
The Briggs group, which also owns Balloo Hire in the Northern Ireland, now runs a UK/Ireland aerial lift rental fleet of around 2,500 platforms.
