Thanet adds a two ATs
UK rental company Thanet Crane Hire has added two new All Terrain cranes to its fleet - a 40 tonne Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1 and a 60 tonne Grove GMK 3060L.
The two axle LTM 1040-2.1 has a four section 35 metre main boom which can handle 7.4 tonnes at full height or 1.1 tonnes at a maximum radius of 31 metres. Features include a Stage V engine, Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger set up system and the company's remote control unit which provides operation for all superstructure functions.

The Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1
The three axle Grove GMK 3060L features a 48 metre six section main boom plus an 8.7 to 15 metre bi-fold hydraulic luffing swingaway extension. Features include a Euromot S/Tier 4 engine with reduced fuel consumption, Grove’s MAXbase variable outrigger setup and monitoring system and a manual emergency recovery boom system.

Operations directorJack Stickings said: “We are very pleased with these new additions to our fleet, part of our ongoing investment in the latest lifting technology. We have a second Böcker AK 46/6000 on order due later in the year, as well as a new Mercedes Arocs with Fassi 365A crane which will join our transport service. On top of this, we have relocated to a new depot in Headcorn, near Maidstone. In all we are investing in the region of £2 million in the company’s future this year.”
Kent based Thanet Crane Hire was founded in 2008 and offers crane rental, haulage services, traffic management and auxiliary equipment rental.
