Lead AP event
The UK construction industry’s Lifting Lead AP Group is holding an information event, meeting and open day later this month in Buckinghamshire.
The event aims to highlight everything that is currently being worked on around safe lifting operations across industry and will include representation from groups that write and review the standards, governing bodies, end users, owners, suppliers, training bodies and the HSE.

A previous meeting at the facility
An impressive line up of speakers has been organised, with key topics to be covered at the open day including presentations, discussions, demonstrations and live training events in aspects around safe lifting loading and lowering, training, standards improvements & revisions, innovation etc.
The event will be hosted by GGR at its Haddenham location on September 29th and supported by Skanska.
The target audience for this event includes lifting APs, Logistics Managers and Supervisors, Plant Managers, Procurement Leads and Senior Health & Safety managers from across the Tier 1 and Industry contractors’ group.

Lunch and refreshments will also be included throughout the day
Attendees will also have the opportunity to see some custom designed lifting equipment and new ideas on carrying out different lifting applications more efficiently. Plant tours can also be arranged along with specific demonstrations including the latest vacuum lifters, glazing robots, overhang lifting beams, electric telehandlers, spider cranes and mini crawlers - as well as an all-new self propelled 26 metre 1,500kg all-electric glazing robot.

The Lifting Lead AP Group
The Industry Lifting Lead AP Group was formed in 2015 to bring together like minded people within industry to encourage improved collaboration and co-ordination, while aiding communication between working groups, associations, governing bodies, contractors, owners and suppliers. The aim is to support industry on improvements and assistance to areas such as standards, guidance, training and improved methods of working to make lifting operations safer and more efficient.
