Crane overturns onto platform

A four axle truck crane overturned onto a boom lift and building on Saturday in Oklahoma City while lifting a large display screen.

The boom of the Grove TMS 700E truck crane, from the TNT Crane & Rigging fleet struck the boom of a JLG boom lift with two men in the platform. Thankfully it missed the basket, and they were unhurt and able to escape onto/into the building. The operator suffered minor injuries for which he was treated in Hospital.

It looks as though a front outrigger broke through the pavement, into a void, although we have not been able to confirm exactly what happened. One thing is for certain, this was a very very lucky escape, it could easily have been a multiple fatality incident.
