Chill out when working on slopes
A total of seven Teupen tracked spider lifts are being used on the site of The Chill Factor - a new indoor ski slope being built in Manchester by Sir Alfred McAlpine.
Four Leo 23GT models rented from UK importer Ranger Equipment have, with the help of some special factory designed wedge shaped outrigger mats, solved the problem of safely working on the 15 degree slope of the ski run itself.

The four machines are being used by a team from electrical contractors Connect 2 of Stockport to help install the overhead services
In addition to the use of the wedges which give the outriggers a level surface to sit on, a wire lanyards/safety lines attach the base of each machine to strategically placed anchors, just in case the machines should start to slip down the slope.
Phil Blackburn of Connect 2 said: “Ranger was recommended to us by a hire company we regularly use and besides being very helpful and excellent to deal with, its platforms have proved highly successful for the job.”
In fact, three additional Teupen machines are also being used on this busy site by the steel erectors and painters, further illustrating the ability of the Teupen product to tackle difficult-to-reach areas. Hopefully the machines will help keep the whole project on schedule, with the first skiers due to hit the slope in November this year.
