RT trio for Massucco T

Italian sales and rental company Massucco T has taken delivery of three 51 tonne Grove GRT655L Rough Terrain cranes.

The cranes were manufactured at the Manitowoc plant in Niella Tanaro, 30 minutes from Massucco T's headquarters in Cuneo, Piedmont. They feature a 43 metre, five section full power boom topped by a 7.9 to 13.7 metre telescopic swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of just under 60 metres. Features include a tilting cab, hydraulic disc brakes, load sensing hydraulics and an ‘eco mode’ for lower fuel consumption. They were also ordered with a full telematics suite, including remote diagnostics.

One of the three new cranes

Sales manager Roberto Borgogno said: “There were many reasons behind our choice to invest in Grove again. Our previous experience with the brand and our awareness of the reliability and excellent technical support were relevant. But perhaps the main attraction was the advanced technologies on the crane. These are not gadgets, but digital tools that impact crane management and maintenance. For example, the diagnostics feature is an extremely important way to keep on top of operating and maintenance costs. It allows us to precisely schedule service based on working hours.”

“The GRT655L is also just three metres wide and has a removable counterweight, so it’s easy to transport. Most importantly however is the impressive load chart and performance make it a perfect crane for the Italian and European markets. They will allow us to further extend our offering and cover a wider range of applications, from assembling prefabricated buildings to maintenance and process work in industrial plants.”

Massucco T was established in 1961 and operates a rental fleet of over 1,800 units from 13 branches - nine in Italy, three in France, and one in Tunisia. The fleet includes a wide range of self-propelled aerial work platforms, truck mounted and spider lifts, telehandlers, and cranes including mini crawlers, spider cranes and Sennebogen telescopic crawlers, along with excavators and other earthmoving equipment.
