Another entrapment fatality
We have learnt of a tragic entrapment incident in the UK – which occurred between Derby and Nottingham earlier this week.
It seems that a man working from an aerial work platform was crushed against a section of studding for cable trays having not looked behind him as he raised the platform, as a result he did not see some studding for cable trays above and behind him. As he raised the platform, he hit the back of his neck against the obstacle. The impact pressed him down onto the control panel, jamming the platform-up control. We understand that he was rescued but died later from his injuries. The incident occurred, we are told, at the start of the week or the weekend.
While we have confirmed that a fatal incident did occur in the region in this manner, we have yet to learn the full facts. But we will update this item as soon as we can.
