Lucky escape
Several men working from three telescopic boom lifts escaped serious injury yesterday on a construction site in Glendale, California, when roof trusses collapsed onto their machines.
The occupant of one boom lift managed to find his own way to the ground, while another was rescued by a hoist from a fire ladder and the other two had to be winched up into a helicopter. We also understand that one or two of the trapped men were on the ground at the time. All six miraculously escaped injuries. Although five of them were taken to hospital for a cautionary check-up.

The men were helping build a new film studio, along with more than 60 others on the ground. Fortunately, most had left the partially constructed building for a lunch break and the local fire and rescue department is located right next door. They heard the incident and were on the scene in minutes.
The following two news videos best show what occurred.
Pemby
Well... when the studio does get built, they know what "based on a true story" film to do first...
