New Tadano AC 2.040-1 for Weiland

German crane rental company Weiland Kran & Transport has taken delivery of a new 40 tonne Tadano AC 2.040-1.
Launched last year, the two axle crane features a 35.2 metre four section full hydraulic main boom. The capacity on the fully extended boom is 7.6 tonnes at radius of eight metres, while the maximum radius is 32 metres with 900kg. The boom can be extended by a nine metre swingaway extension which manually offsets by up to 40 degrees. Maximum tip height is 47.5 metres with a six tonne load.

Joint managing directors Sebastian and Volker Degenhardt said: “We wanted a solid two axle crane that would be easy to operate for lightweight day to day work while remaining absolutely reliable. With those requirements it’s really no surprise that we ended up deciding on the new AC 2.040-1."

“A crane like this is simply something you need to have in your portfolio. With total weight of 24 tonnes, it can travel to work sites while comfortably within axle load limits, carry out its work with its incredibly simple telescoping system, and then move on to the next site.”
“The combination between the IC 1 Plus system and the Flex Base outrigger system, which makes it possible to extend the outriggers to any point within their range, ensures that the crane has excellent lifting capacities even with a basic 1.1 tonnes of counterweight” said Sebastian Degenhardt. “Together with a 35.2 main boom, this makes it an extraordinarily versatile machine. On top of this the lead time was good with delivery just four months after we placed the order.”

Weiland was established by Karl Weiland in 1946 and purchased its first crane in 1972 when it set up the crane rental subsidiary. The company added aerialk lift rental in 2001, but sold this part of the business - Weiland Hebetechnik - to its managing director Bernhard Schröckenschlager last September.
