Gerken has added 100 JLG/Power Towers Ecolift and Pecolift low level platforms to its rental fleet.

Both machines are manually powered push around models, working heights of 4.2 and 3.5 metres respectively. Gerken is marketing them under its own nomenclature – the GSL 042 and GSL 035, platform capacity is 150kg on both, while both are 700mmm wide and weigh 305kg and 180kg. The new machines are all equipped with JLG’s new vertical guardrails to prevent climbing.

The Peco lift

The Gerken rental business was established in 1989, but the company can trace its roots back to 1963 when Manfred Gerken opened a painting business in Duesseldorf. Having become a significant user of aerial lifts on larger painting contracts, he found himself gradually moving into rental, and set up Gerken Arbeitsbühnenvermietung in 1989. Telehandlers were added in 2014 and more recently the company has added spider cranes. The Gerken fleet now includes more than 9,000 aerial work platforms, available from 37 locations, including one in the Netherlands.
