Why bother?

Spotted by a reader in California, a man with a scissor lift working on the roof edge of a building at a height of between three and four metres.

While he has a scissor lift one cannot but help wonder why? He has parked it at a distance from the roof, and not bothered to elevate it at all, preferring to stand on the top guardrail. This is not the first time we have seen this, it’s almost as though they don’t realise that the platform can be raised!

Our correspondent said: “Not a death wish but, an example of what not to do perhaps.” Actually it definitely does qualify as a good many fatal incidents occur at such low levels, and if not fatal they can easily result in life changing injuries.
So it’s going in.
