Development director for Dearborn

US heavy lift, engineering, and rigging contractor Dearborn Companies has appointed Patrick Clark as director of business development.

In his new role he will play a key role in positioning the company for long term growth in the heavy lift, civil/structural and specialised transportation industries. His responsibilities include reinforcing and expanding services in the upper Midwest, while helping the company expand its coverage along the Gulf Coast from a new office in the Huston area.

Patrick Clark


He joins the company after more than 18 years with LGH - Lifting Gear Hire - where he was national rental support manager. He joined the company at the start of 2005 as an outside sales representative and was promoted to his most recent role with the company in 2012. He had also worked with Waste Management NZ in an outside sales role, before returning to college 2001.
He is also a certified master rigger and was vice chairman of the SC&RA’s Lift & Move USA Governing Committee until last year and has sat on several ASME - American Society of Mechanical Engineers - committees and won the AC&RP’s - Association of Crane and Rigging Professionals - Trainer of the Year award in 2016.

Dearborn is based in the Bridgeview, suburb of Chicago and was established in 1954, when Bob Walsh started an electrical construction and engineering firm. In the almost 70 years since then, the company has grown into a heavy lift and civil/structural engineering business, carrying out ground condition surveys, tower crane foundations, lift planning and rigging engineering work. It is now expanding its operations to cover the Gulf Coast with a new office in the greater Houston area.
