Loader crane shock

A man has lost his leg but is lucky to be alive after the boom of the crane he was operating touched overhead power lines in Donegal, Ireland, last Tuesday, August 1st. The resulting rush of electricity to earth ran right through him as he stood at the controls.

The man, Dillon Feely, 27 was airlifted to hospital with serious burns, his condition was so serious that surgeons had no option but to amputate one of his legs. But medical staff stated that he was very lucky to be alive. He now faces at least 12 months in and out of hospital, before he can even begin looking at returning to some sort of normal family life.

The family has set up a Go Fund Me page to help with the financial strain. The page has already raised almost €58,000.
