LTM 1350-6.1 for Treffler

German crane rental and heavy haulage company Treffler has taken delivery of a 350 tonne Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 All Terrain crane.

The LTM 1350-6.1 features a 70 metre main boom, plus 78 metre luffing jib and 140 tonnes of counterweight. It will replace an LTM 1300-6.1 and is the company's first unit in this crane class.

Branch manager Matthias Bulisch said: “On the one hand, the investment in the new crane follows our rhythm for fleet renewal, and on the other hand, we are strengthening our portfolio. The new crane has Y-type telescopic boom guying and is therefore significantly stronger than its predecessor.”

“We deliberately chose a six axle crane because it has advantages in approval processes, compared to seven to nine axle cranes. We bought the LTM 1350-6.1 fully equipped meaning it can be used for a very wide range of applications from concrete construction to industrial operations to construction crane assemblies."

Based in Munich with a second location in Ingolstadt, Treffler was originally a family carpentry and wood frame buildings business that dates back to the 1870s. It began to change in 1964 when a new generation in the form of Josef Treffler took over, acquiring the company’s first crane a year later to help erect its large timber beamed structures. It has been operating as a crane rental business since 1978 and was acquired by Maxikraft in October 2019.

Maxikraft operates from 23 locations across Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Brandenburg, Berlin, Lower Saxony and Bavaria running telescopic, lattice and crawler cranes from 25 to 1,000 tonnes alongside heavy transport equipment with payloads of up to 300 tonnes. It has approximately 500 employees with more than 200 cranes.
