Third 52m Spider for Mediaco

French crane and aerial lift rental group Mediaco, has taken delivery of a third 52 metre Palazzani Ragno XJT 52+ spider lift.
The latest machine will be based at the company’s branch in Nantes - the first two units are based at its depot in Bordeaux.

The Ragno XTJ 52+ has a maximum outreach of 19.5 metres with 120kg in the platform at a height of up to 28 metres. The maximum platform capacity of 400kg is available at an outreach of up to 14.5 metres. Features include zero tail swing, numerous outrigger positions and the company’s ‘Area Manager’ system which automatically adjusts the working envelope depending on the outrigger set up and weight in the platform. The company also ordered the optional 980kg hydraulic winch which converts the lift into a spider crane which can handle its maximum capacity of 500kg at a radius of 12.5 metres and 250kg at 16.5 metres.

Marseille based Mediaco was founded by Jean-Jacques Vernazza in 1942, who built it into a successful maritime freight and forwarding business. In 1973 his son Christian-Jacques formed the crane division and added aerial lifts in the mid-1980s. Today the company operates from 80 locations in France with a fleet of 3,000 machines, including 830 cranes. Revenues are in the region of €390 million, of which €347 million are generated by lifting, material handling and powered access.
