Sany confirms UK appointment

Chinese crane and heavy equipment manufacturer Sany has confirmed the appointment of Andrew Snow as UK manager for crane products.

In his new role he will be responsible for leading the Sany crane division in the UK and Ireland, overseeing all aspects of operations, sales, and customer support. Sany Cranes UK will operate out of the Sany/ Putzmeister UK premises in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Snow has been working with Sany informally since early summer, and we understand already clocked up his first orders. The appointment is though now official.

He joins the company from Tadano UK having transferred with the company when it acquired Terex/Demag Cranes where he had worked for more than 21 years, most recently as a regional sales manager. He began his industrial related career in 1998 with hydraulic and pneumatic tool supplier HES Sales leaving for Demag in 2002.

In the UK Snow will focus on Sany’s telescopic crawler cranes from 60 to 80 tonnes, including new battery powered models, with two larger telescopic crawler due for launch next year. The company will also bring in its the well proven line of lattice boom crawlers from 60 to 480 tonnes and will introduce its 60 tonne SAC600E three axle All Terrain crane to the UK market. The crane has already appeared at a number of events in Europe this year.

"I am delighted to join the team at the start of its journey as we expand our product range and work towards strengthening our presence in the European market”.

“We have already seen success and product acceptance in other European countries and now Sany aims to establish itself as a leading provider of cranes in the UK as well. The SAC600E is just the first of a range of All Terrian products which will be offered in Europe, with 120 tonne four axle and 250 tonne five axle models due in the new year.
