Terex goes global with Franna FR17 C

Terex Franna is to launch its new 17 tonne FR17 C four wheel drive compact crane, which has designed by a team of Indian and Austrialian engineers and manufacturered at the company's plant in India, to other markets, including Africa, South America and the UAE.

The more cost effective pick & carry crane has a turning radius of 6.77 metres and is pitched as an entry level crane for construction, mining, and logistics, yard and industrial applications where space is limited.

The Franna FR17 C


The FR17 C has a three section 14.2 metre boom topped by a manually extended fourth section to 18.23 metres and a short extension that takes the maximum tip height to 20.8 metres. The crane has been engineered to be easy to operate with simple, smooth and intuitive controls, while incorporating the manufacturer’s advanced safety measures and latest technology including overload protection, anti-tipping technology and a safety monitoring system.

Graeme Davison, I'm not aware that thereis any issue with this type of crane in it's native country, Australia. In fact they have a very solid reputation. I suspect that you are confusing it with the tractor type of pick and carry cranes that are popular in India ? They are a very different beast

Heavy mobile equipment must be operated correctly. Franna cranes usually have the job done by the time you have finished laying out the timbers. Good for loading trucks. Good inside
tight spaces such as factories with low ceilings. Very versatile and yes they must be driven and operated correctly.

Anti tipping mechanism fitted... that's a very good thing.. judging by the seemingly endless You Tube videos of these cranes tipping or rolling due to the abuse that they seem to get in their native countries!
