The Liebherr plant in Ehingen has delivered its 2,000th crane so far this year, the first time in its history.
The 2,000th crane, a 70 tonne four axle LTM 1070-4.2 All Terrain is destined for the MaxiKraft Group and was handed over to company owner Maik Kanitzky in ceremony witnessed by more than a thousand employees.

While it is easier to build small cranes than large ones, Liebherr says that the majority of cranes built this year have four axles or more.
At the ceremony Maik Kanitzky said: "From my point of view, the employees are the company. And great people have to work at Liebherr to achieve this kind of performance. Everyone has to do a good job so that 2,000 cranes can be delivered in a year. As a customer, I can only say: Thank you very much."

MaxiKraft is a regular Liebherr customer, having place numerous large orders with the company as its business has grown and to keep up with the latest innovations. Established in 1992, the group includes five companies serving Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Brandenburg, Berlin, Lower Saxony and Bavaria with a total of 23 branches, a fleet of more than 200 cranes, with 500 employees. Around 80 percent of the fleet are from Liebherr ranging from the 30 tonne two axle LTM 1030-2.1 to three 1,000 tonne LR 11000 lattice crawlers.
Over the years it has purchased around 800 new Liebherr cranes, costing around €500 million.
Liebherr sales director Christoph Kleiner said: "Sustainability is important to us. We aim to contribute to the long term performance and economic viability of our customers. Through safety and reliability, we can create added value for our customers. Delivering so many cranes is one thing. But every small part is important, every sensor. The quality must be maintained because availability, reliability, that is crucial for every crane operator."
