German aerial lift, telehandler and crane rental company Cramer Arbeitsbühnen has extended its coverage northwards with the acquisition of Hamburg based LangeLift, from Michael Lange and his daughter Nadine Lange.
The takeover was officially completed at the start of January and comes with the depot, three staff and a fleet of around 50 machines - including booms, scissor lifts, truck mounted lifts to 51 metres, 30 metre spider lifts and low level machines. The premises are located in the Hummelsbüttel district close to the airport. Cramer is based in Hagen just south of Dortmund.
Cramer said: “The new branch, the result of the takeover of the Lange Lift company, enables us to respond even better to our customer’s requirements, optimise our service and strengthen our presence in the region, offering a wide range of high reach technology from our new Hamburg location.”

Cramer was founded in 1962 by Peter Cramer to transport timber. He moved into tree care in 1970, subsequently acquiring a number of work platforms to assist with the work, and a rental business side line soon emerged. By 1977 the company began adding lifts purely for rental, including underbridge inspection platforms.
Telehandlers were added in 2002, as a second generation joined the company in the form of industrial engineer Till Cramer, followed a couple of years later by daughter Annekathrin Schumacher-Cramer and her husband Jan Schumacher who took over the management of the rental division. By 2010 the fleet had grown to 750 units, including some spider cranes, and the tree business was dropped.
The company has grown steadily over the years, from three employees to more than 115, with a fleet of over 1,600 platforms, telehandlers and cranes.
