Kiloutou moves into Spain

French rental company Kiloutou has entered the Spanish rental market with the acquisition of Rentecnika from Santiago del Solar.

Founded in 1994, Rentecnika runs a network of seven branches in Barcelona and Madrid with a staff of 15. It has a fleet of almost 5,000 machines, mostly tools and small equipment along access equipment. The company will lease the Rentecnika management in place under current manager Jordi Varela and use the team to develop the business into a national player, through new depot openings and acquisitions.

Chief executive Xavier du Boÿs said: “This acquisition represents an important step forward in our development and confirms our international ambitions. The positioning of Rentecnika in terms of products and agency format is perfectly adapted to the expected evolution of the Spanish market, which should focus on the renovation of buildings.”
