Haulotte has announced a new 46ft all electric articulated Rough Terrain boom lift, the HA16 E and the higher specification HA16 E Pro. The new machine will be on display at the ARA Show next week in New Orleans. See Vertikal Events
The new machine is said to match or exceed the performance of the equivalent diesel powered machine, in terms of operating speeds and gradeability, thanks to its direct wheel motor drive, which is both quiet and powerful, making it equally at home working indoors or out. The new boom lift is also available with Haulotte’s standalone Range Extender generator pack, effectively converting it to a hybrid machine. The unit joins the manufacturer’s Pulseo line in terms of features etc..
The specification is similar to the existing HA 16 J range, employing a dual riser, two section telescopic boom and articulating jib, with a working height of 16 metres, but with 400mm less outreach at 7.9 metres but it gains more up & over height at 7.88 metres, and a higher maximum/unrestricted platform capacity at 300kg. Most of the other specifications are the same or similar, with an overall width of 2.3 metres, a standard 1.8 metre by 800mm platform and 40 percent gradeability, It is almost a tonne heavier though at 7,030kg to 7,120kg.
Charging solutions include plugging into the normal AC mains socket or a three phase outlet for faster charging, or using the Range Extender which can be installed on the machine in around five minutes, The diesel powered generator can recharge the machines battery pack from zero to 80 percent in around three hours. It can be offered as a rental option to those who want a hybrid capability.
As with HA16 diesel the Standard HA16 E has four wheel drive, two wheel steer and fixed axles while the Pro version has four wheel steer and an oscillating front axle along with a higher standard specification.
