German access rental company Hundrup Arbeitsbühnen-Vermietunghas has acquired construction equipment sales and rental company Schürck Baumaschinen from owners and joint managing directors Heinz-Jochem and Edgar Schürck.
Jochem and Edgar Schürck are now 60 and 65 years old respectively and were ready to hand over after 32 years building the business, which is which is based in Waltrop, north of Dortmund, in north west Germany. The company runs a rental fleet of around 100 larger machines and is a dealer for Volvo constructoion and Potain tower cranes.

Manager, Stefan Hundrup said: "Jochem Schürck was looking for a successor for reasons of age, and therefore it was obvious for us to take over the machines and employees of Schürck and integrate them into our rental park. So, as of January, in addition to working platforms, cranes or forklifts, we also rent construction machinery and construction equipment. The Schürck fleet is mainly made up of excavators, wheel loaders and vibratory plates.”
Stefan and his brother, Jens Hundrup, have been running the business for five years after taking over from their parents, Bärbel and Peter Hundrup who still support their sons from the side lines.

Hundrup which is also based in Waltrop, was established in 1994 and offers a range of aerial work platforms including scissor lifts, truck mounted lifts, boom lifts, spider lifts and telehandlers as well as truck, trailer and spider cranes, serving customers across northern eastern Germany and into Belgium and the Netherlands.
