German crane group Wittrock and Ulferts has purchased 50 new All Terrain cranes from Liebherr.
The delivery includes All Terrains from 50 tonne three models to 250 tonne five axle units, including a 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1 city type All Terrain. Ordered at the end of last year, they will be delivered over the next six to nine months to locations all over Germany.
All of the cranes will be equipped with Liebherr's LICCON3 control, while the 150 tonne LTM 1100-5.3 and 100 tonne LTM 1110-5.2 were ordered with additional equipment, such as a central lubrication system for the chassis, LED headlights, central locking, rear-view camera system and a comprehensive work lighting package.
Temmo Niekamp the joint managing director of Ulferts group said: "We are essentially three independent groups of companies that traditionally work closely together. The Wittrock group, the Ulferts group and the Ulferts & Wittrock business."
Marcus Wittrock, joint managing director of the Wittrock group, who also manages the Ulferts & Wittrock added: "We want to impress our customers by using modern equipment. It's therefore important for us to regularly procure new cranes that are at the cutting edge of mobile crane technology. We decided to go ahead with the new purchases, even though the current economic trends in Germany are not viewed positively. However, we are taking a long term approach and showing courage and confidence in our industry."
Wittrock joint managing director Oliver Herrmann said: “New cranes also relieve the burden on the workshops in our branches. We are currently replacing cranes built in 2019. This means that hardly any of our cranes are more than four years old. Demand for new cranes also arises due to new projects and site expansions, such as in Bayreuth and Schwedt, as well as new locations, including Halle."
The group includes Herrmann & Wittrock, Ulferts, Titschkus & Wittrock, and Ulferts & Wittrock - can trace its origins back to 1909 when Hermann Titschkus established a haulage company. Crane rental began in 1970 with Mennen & Wittrock, followed by the founding of Ulferts in 1972 and Ulferts & Wittrock in 1989. Over the years, the group has expanded through startups and takeovers.
In 2002, it diversified into aerial work platforms and forklifts. Today, the group runs a fleet of more than 200 mobile cranes with capacities ranging from 30 to 700 tonnes, along with crawler cranes with capacities of 130 to 650 tonnes as well as mobile self-erecting tower cranes. It also runs around 3,500 items of other equipment including aerial lifts, forklift trucks, telehandlers, and heavy haulage vehicles from 10 locations in Germany: Oldenburg, Brake, Hamburg, Hollenstedt, Wilhelmshaven, Hollenstedt, Schwerin, Kiel, Flensburg and Lübeck.
