Haulotte has completed a substantial upgrade to its 60ft HA20 RTJ articulated boom lift, adding dual platform capacities and other features.
The major change is the new overload and working envelope programme that increases the maximum platform capacity from 250 to 350kg and allows safe working on slopes of up to six degrees. It is calling the new feature ‘Dual Reach’. The current unrestricted platform capacity of 250kg remains for the maximum 11.9 metres of outreach - at an up & over height of 8.6 metres - with a four degree safe working slope.
Now however it can also handle up to 350kg in the platform at an outreach of up to 10 metres or on slopes of up to six degrees. When the Dual Reach function is activated, the machine's working envelope is automatically and dynamically adapted to the working position. The feature is available on all new HA20RTJs.
The new HA20RTJ is now equipped with rough terrain telehandler type axle drive, helping reduce the number of hydraulic hoses by almost 30 percent, while four wheel drive, oscillating axle and automatic differential lock are all standard, four wheel steer is available as an option.
The unit also employs a smaller - under 18.5kW - diesel power unit, thanks to optimised drive train and hydraulics, helping reduce fuel consumption by 35 to 50 percent.

Other features include Haulotte's Activ'Lighting system with 10 LED spotlights helping the operator to load and unload the machine safely in low-light conditions, while the Activ'Shield Bar anti-entrapment system is standard on the PRO model. Finally the company says that the updated HA20 RTJ PRO boasts a “97 percent recyclability rate.”
