Scottish rental company Whyte Cargo Handlers has taken delivery of two 150 tonne Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3 All Terrains.
The five axle cranes are equipped with a 66 metre, seven section main boom along with the 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that offsets hydraulically by up to 40 degrees. A seven metre insert can be added between the boom nose and extension to take the maximum tip height to almost 95 metres and maximum radius to 72 metres. They also features Liebherr’s VarioBase variable outrigger set up and monitoring system.

Managing director of Whyte, John Mullen said: “We offer a comprehensive range of cargo handling services which includes complex and heavy lifts, often working around the clock to meet the demands of the busy port requirements. Therefore, we want to ensure we have the right equipment to perform these lifts and that’s why we have continued to invest in Liebherr which not only supplies state of the art cranes but also has the backup to support them.”

Established in 1996 and based in Ferryden, Montrose, Whyte Cargo Handlers runs a fleet that includes All Terrain cranes, forklift trucks and telehandlers. It operates across a number of Scottish ports including Montrose, Aberdeen, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Inverness, Invergordon and Rosyth on the Forth.
