German crane rental company Auto-Klug has taken delivery of new Tadano AC 4.070L-1 All Terrain crane.
The four axle AC 4.070L-1 features a six section 52.1 metre main boom plus a nine to 16 metre bifold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees of offset. Maximum tip height is 70 metres. can handle 62.5 tonnes at a three metre radius and 27.8 tonnes at an eight metre radius or 5.8 tonnes on full boom, at up to 18 metres radius. Klug ordered the AC 4.070L-1 with the full 16.5 tonnes of counterweight, 12.2 tonnes of which can be carried on board within 12 tonne axles loadings. While all of the counterweight can be caried where 16.5 tonne axle loads are permitted.

Managing director Christina Glück said: “One of the main reasons we opted for the AC 4.070L-1 is that it can carry a lot of counterweight. That makes it a highly versatile machine that can be used for a wide range of jobs. Another deciding factor for us is that our fleet already includes several similar Tadano machines. The similarities make it easy for its operators to move between the different models. The new crane will mainly be used at the Bayreuth-Bindlach site but is of course also available for use at the other facilities.”

Based in Hof, northeast Bavaria, Auto-Klug was established in 1939 as a scrap metal trader car recyler, adding crane rental in 1963.
Today it offers crane rental, heavy lifting and transportation services from seven locations with around 140 employees, in Bavaria, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Its rental fleet includes around 40 cranes from 20 to 500 tonnes, along with aerial work platforms and forklifts.
