German crane and aerial lift rental company Franz Bracht has taken delivery of a 35 tonne Liebherr LTM 1030-2.1 All Terrain crane, the 15th unit of this model in its fleet.
The two axle LTM 1030-2.1, features a four section 30 metre main boom, topped by an 8.6 to 15 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees of offset, taking the maximum tip height to almost 48 metres.
Although the crane was originally launched at Intermat, Paris in 1997, Liebherr has kept it ‘updated’ with the latest technology such as lighting, ballast monitoring and a Stage V engine. More than 2,800 units have been delivered in the 26 years since its launch.
Managing director Dirk Bracht said: “Two axle cranes will continue to play an important role in our fleet in the future, even though competition from heavy loader cranes and large telehandlers has increased considerably. In purely environmental and economic terms, I still think it's better to drive with a total weight of 24 tonnes than with a three axle crane weighing 36 tonnes."
“In 1974 - exactly 50 years ago - we bought our first Liebherr crane, an LG 1130 lattice boom mobile crane. It was the beginning of a successful partnership based on trust, honesty and loyalty, that has endured to this day."
Established in 1964, Franz Bracht is based in Erwitte and operates from 16 locations with 800 employees in North Rhine-Westphalia with a fleet that includes around 292 mobile cranes with capacities ranging from seven to 1,600 tonnes. It also provides heavy haulage services and has more than 200 aerial work platforms in the fleet of its Hofmann Kranvermietung subsidiary.
