Another telecoms fatality

A man working for telecoms and cable company Verizon died last week while using a utility type work platform/bucket truck, after making contact or moving too close to live overhead power lines.

The incident occurred last Tuesday in Ashton, Maryland – between Rockville /Washington DC and Baltimore - the man has been named as Osmar Daniel Chavarria, 39, of Frederick. Before he could be rescued the emergency services had to wait for Baltimore Gas and Electric Company to disconnect and de-energise the power lines. Chavarria was declared dead at the scene.
