UK crane rental company City Lifting has taken delivery of the first 100 tonne Liebherr LTM 1100-5.3 All Terrain in the UK, its second Liebherr crane so far this year.
The five axle LTM 1100-5.3 features a seven section 62 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway which can be offset to 40 degrees and provides a maximum tip height of 68 metres.
The second Liebherr crane to be equipped with the Liccon3 control system, it also has a Stage V diesel and Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger system.
City Lifting's managing director, Trevor Jepson said: “The crane was ordered for its road possibilities. We predominantly operate in London where it is becoming increasingly difficult to move cranes as more bridges and structures are being downrated to 44 tonne GVW. This crane with the ballast removed will be able to access certain areas in London that only trucks which can comply with the construction and use regulations can get to.”
“If we travel this crane with 15.4 tonnes of ballast it can be used within STGO category B giving much better braking combined with higher legal travel speeds whilst still having good lifting duties.”
Based in Essex on the East side of London, City Lifting runs a fleet of 60 All Terrains, 20 mini crawlers and spider cranes and 150 tower cranes.
