California based manufacturer MEC Aerial Work Platforms has added two new regional sales managers to its North American team, both of whom will cover the parts of the Central region.
William Wallwin is based in Houston, Texas and joins the company after a year as a district sales manager with locally based Reliant Equipment Rental. He began his equipment related career in 1997 with Hertz Equipment Rental as a branch manager. After almost eight years with in the role he left for job as district manager with Multiquip, where he spent the following 13 years, before moving to Ground Penetrating Radar specialist Penhall Technologies as an account manager. In 2020 he was joined Monk JCB as an account manager, leaving the following year for a regional sales manager position at LGMG North America, returning to Monk JCB 18 months later and making the move to Reliant last September.
Sales vice president Paul Waller said: “William’s leadership skills, deep industry knowledge and relationships will play a pivotal role in strengthening our sales capabilities and driving our customers partnerships to the next level.
Brian Thompson joins MEC from Raka Rentals where for the past 18 months he has been fleet manger, having started with the company in late 2022. In his new role with MEC he will look after North Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. He started out in early 2007 as a sergeant with the US Army, based in Germany and also served in Iraq. In 2013 he returned to civilian life as a mechanic with Freerksen Trucking in Minnesota. In 2015 me moved to John Deere dealer KC Nielsen, initially as a mechanic, moving up through the ranks to become parts and then service manager leaving for Rakka eight years later.
