UK crane rental and haulage company Walker & Son Hauliers has taken delivery of two new Liebherr All Terrain cranes, a 180 tonne LTM 1160-5.2 and a 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1.
The five axle LTM 1160-5.2 features a six section 62 metre main boom, plus a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. Together with the three additional seven metre inserts between boom nose and swingaway it provides a maximum tip height of 104 metres and a maximum radius of 78 metres.
The three axle LTM 1060-3.1 crane is equipped with a six section 48 metre boom, topped by a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which takes the maximum tip height to more than 67 metres while also offering up to 40 degrees of offset. The crane can carry all its 12.8 tonnes of counterweight within the UK’s STGO regulations which allows axle loads of up to 16.5 tonnes.
Director Jack Walker-Tully said: “We are pleased to welcome both cranes to our fleet. The versatility of the LTM 1160-5.2 fits our fleet very well and bridges the gap from 100 tonne to 250 tonnes. The 60 tonner is another excellent investment to our fleet, since taking delivery of our first LTM 1060-3.1 in 2019 it has been extremely popular with our customer base and was the obvious option when looking at adding another 60 tonne crane to our fleet.”
Established in 1945 and based in Tuxford, Newark, Walker & Son runs a fleet of truck mounts and All Terrains ranging from seven to 750 tonnes. It provides its haulage, logistics and distribution services throughout the UK and much of the rest of Europe, and also works in property development and plant installation.
