German rental company Richard Kölch & Sohn has taken delivery of a new 90 tonne Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 All Terrain.
The four axle LTM 1090-4.2 features a 60 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset to offer a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. Features include Liebherr’s VarioBase variable outrigger set up and remote control system, along with Ecodrive and Ecomode systems, which helps improve fuel consumption, while reducing emissions and noise.
Managers Alexander and Kurt Kölch collected the crane from the Liebherr Ehingen plant and took it directly to its first job, the erection of a prefabricated house.
Managing director Alexander Kölch said: “Machine relocation and transport jobs are a big area for us. The jobs often take place in constricted areas which is why we were looking for a powerful, compact crane. The LTM 1090-4.2’s 2.55 metre wide chassis, and 7.46 by 7.3 metre maximum footprint with VarioBase is perfect for us. At the same time, the LTM 1090-4.2 has high lifting capacities and a large working area due to its 60 metre telescopic boom. Short set up times mean that the 90 tonne machine can quickly be readied for use at the site.”
Based in Fürth, northeast of Nuremberg, the family owned and run company was established in 1977 and is run by the second generation of the Kölch family. The company’s fleet includes All Terrain, crawler, spider and loader cranes for rental and also provides industrial removal services and heavy transport services throughout Germany.
