French rental company Comlev has taken delivery a 120 tonne Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 All Terrain crane, the second largest crane in its fleet.
The four axle crane features a seven section 66 metre main boom topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. A seven metre section can be added to achieve a maximum tip height of more than 94 metres with a maximum radius of 64 metres. The crane is equipped with VarioBase variable outrigger set up and monitoring, and VarioBallast adjustable counterweight.
Co managing director Karine Lucas said: “With a compact four axle machine like the LTM 1120-4.1, we will have easier access to urban construction sites moving forward. This means it can tackle jobs which would normally require a five-axle crane, with all the logistics work that involves. All in all, the LTM 1120-4.1 gives us more flexibility and lower transport costs.”
Comlev was founded 40 years ago in the Amiens region of Northern France. It is a subsidiary of Alkaline, which also represents heavy haulage and rental company Sommalev. The company runs a fleet of six machines with a 16 strong team, 11 of whom are crane operators.
