450t for Guindastes Tatuapé

Brazilian crane and heavy transport company Guindastes Tatuapé has taken delivery of a 450 tonne Grove GMK6450-1 All Terrain crane.

The six axle crane features a five section 60 metre main boom, to which the 79 metres of luffing jib can be added for a 136 metre maximum tip height. Other features included Maxbase variable outrigger set up system and the Grove Mega Wing Lift self rigging Superlift system, which increases capacities when installed by up to 70 percent on the main boom and up to 400 percent on the luffing jib.

On arrival with Tatuapé the crane went stright to work, on the expansion of São Paulo’s Line 2 subway, lifting beams on the Presidente Dutra Highway, and most recently, work at a steel plant in Rio de Janeiro.

Executive director Alexandre Andrade said: “The GMK6450-1 addresses a niche in our lineup between the 400 and 500 tonne models. This six axle machine offers advanced technology and exceptional operational performance, making it ideal for this capacity range. Our customers can rely on it to meet their project deadlines, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Guindastes Tatuapé is based in São Paulo with a branch in the state of Espírito Santo and has been active in the Brazilian market for more than 60 years, providing crane rental and special haulage services. It runs a 400 unit equipment fleet which includes mobile and crawler cranes, aerial work platforms, knuckle boom cranes and telehandlers, with around 400 employees. Customers are largely companies in the oil & gas, wind energy, mining and prefabricated concrete markets.
