Trio of All Terrains for SWC

UK based steel erector Steel Work Construction (SWC) has taken delivery of three new Liebherr All Terrain cranes - two 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2s and a 150 tonne LTM 1150-5.3.

The four axle 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2 features a 60 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset to offer a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. Features include Liebherr’s VarioBase variable outrigger set up and remote control system, along with Ecodrive and Ecomode systems.

The five axle 150 tonne LTM 1150-5.3 is equipped with a 66 metre, seven section main boom along with the 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that offsets hydraulically by up to 40 degrees. A seven metre insert can be added between the boom nose and extension to take the maximum tip height to almost 95 metres and maximum radius to 72 metres. It also features Liebherr’s VarioBase variable outrigger set up and monitoring system.

SWC’s managing director Ben Lee said: “The addition of the mobile cranes represents a significant step in our ongoing fleet expansion. We have been extremely happy with the performance of Liebherr machines, particularly their enhanced safety features. The positive feedback from our operators and clients has made our purchase decisions easier. We intend to continue expanding our fleet next year.”
