UK based Clear View Services has taken delivery of a new 104 metre Bronto S104HLA truck mounted lift, the highest reaching aerial work platform in the UK.
The new platform is mounted on a six axle Volvo 12x8 chassis and has a working height of 104 metres with a maximum outreach of 33 metres at an up & over height of 17 metres, or 25 metres outreach at an up & over height of 63 metres. Maximum capacity is 700kg.
Based in Leeds Clear View focuses on the telecommunications and wind power industries as well as building maintenance, Television and film work. The new Bronto is in reaction to increasing demand for larger platforms in the wind and industrial sectors.
Managing director Jonathan Hawksworth and his team visited the Bronto Skylift plant in Tampere, Finland in December to inspect the new machine and receive training on operating and maintaining the new machine.
Hawksworth said: “Renewable wind energy is a growing sector that requires a stable work platform while working at great heights and we believe the Bronto product is a market leader for both stability and reliability for turbines and extreme heights. It’s nice to have the 104HLA in the UK without too long a wait, as soon as we got it, it went straight to work.”
Ian James of Bronto added: “We are seeing growth in the larger HLA unit sales as turbines get bigger and then the availability of these large units increases the opportunities in other sectors. This S104HLA will no doubt push these developments further.”
Clearview Services Group offers a range of facilities and property maintenance and cleaning services throughout the UK as well as a traffic management service. Its access fleet includes truck mounted lifts from 21 to 104 metres – the new Bronto takes over as its flagship machine from a 90 metre Ruthmann – along with spider lifts up to a 43 metre Platform Basket 43T. The company plans to add more Bronto lifts over the next few years.
