Link Belt appoints NRC
UK crawler crane sales and rental company NRC has been appointed Link Belt mobile crane distributor for the UK and Ireland. The first cranes will arrive in the new year with the UK launch of two or three machines scheduled for exhibitions in the late spring early summer.
Link Belt has a good order book but is looking towards Europe, particularly given the fact that its home market in the States is showing signs of tailing off.
NRC will provide a full parts and service backup for the new range, possibly from its facilities in the Midlands based near Santa Pod in Northamptonshire. The company currently sells and services Hitachi Sumitomo crawler cranes in the UK.
Rod Abbott, managing director of NRC Plant told Cranes & Access: “These are exciting times for NRC, the timing of our appointment could not have come at a more opportune moment.”
The HTT8690 which has seen at SED last year will be one of the first machines coming into the UK next year. It is thought that Link Belt has been eyeing the European market – and looking at the changes needed – for more than a year.
“Link Belt is very thorough and have been looking at every detail of the cranes so that they comply with CE legislation," said Abbott. “I am very optimistic about the level of sales we will achieve next year.”
Abbott also hinted that in the future he would be interested in becoming the European dealer for Link Belt.
