Platform used in ram-raid incident
A stolen access platform was used to ram-raid a store in Chester last night. The thieves used the machine to punch a hole in the side of an out-of-town store near Chester but fled empty-handed.
The raid took place at the Costco store on the Dunkirk Trading Estate at Chester Gate, on the outskirts of the city on Sunday night.
Three men had stolen the platform from the Strawberry roundabout on the A5117 earlier that evening. A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said by the time officers arrived the three men had escaped in a silver 5-series BMW and officers are still hunting for the car.
