The new Kobelco CKE1100 being put to the test.
With a maximum rated capacity of 110 tonnes at 3.6 metres and a maximum 70.1 metre main lattice boom, the new CKE1100 fits neatly between the existing CKE900 and CKE1350 models.
Kobelco says that the crane will provide a highly versatile, highly competitive crane, with an strong lift chart in the important 100 -110 tonne class.
Other boom options include a range of fixed off-set jib extensions up to a maximum combination of 61 metre main boom with a 21.3 metre jib, giving a maximum working radius of 55 metres and a maximum hook height of 72 metres.
As well as easy transportability and assembly, the new CKE1100 has a 247kW, Tier III (noise and emissions compliant) diesel engine driving a four-pump variable-displacement hydraulic system. The spacious cab is well-equipped and has air conditioning as standard.
A major feature is the extendable/retractable crawlers - from 3.5 metres wide fully-retracted transport position, to the maximum fully-extended overall working width of 5.3 metres. Maximum width of the upper-structure (for highway transportation) is 3.2 metres.
Overall weight is just under 100 tonnes and with 900mm wide tracks has a ground bearing pressure of 92.9 kPa (less than 1 kg/sq.cm).
The 34 tonne main counterweight is in sections less than 10 tonnes and can be self-installed.
