AJ opens in Southampton

A J Access Platforms has opened a new branch on the South coast of England between Southampton and Portsmouth.
Kevin Welch has been appointed to run the new rental business with a fleet of scissors, booms and trailer lifts. Welch is a local man with plenty of powered access experience having previously worked with two of the UK's leading powered access rental companies.

John Swift AJ`s rental director said: “ We are really excited to be expanding our business in the region and have carefully chosen our staff and location to maximise our potential in the supply of our rental, sales equipment and training and service activities.”

“We wish to bring to the area the high standard of service in access platform rental that brought to us the IPAF Rental Plus award. Our fleet’s average age is two to three years old and with this we can offer an exceptionally high standard of service. We do not intend to run our equipment for 10 years but will regularly replace it, looking to bring in state of the art equipment.”

Neil Wilkinson has been appointed as sales manager for the southern region responsible for the sale of both new and used access equipment. The new location will also host an IPAF training facility as well as offering PAC certified engineers offering service and maintenance contracts for owner operators.

AJ Access is a member of the Access Link, the group of independently owned access companies that work together to provide a national coverage of locally owned businesses with a common standard of service.
