Israel Celli

Celli joined JLG in 2000 as general manager of Latin America and was promoted to vice president of international sales in 2001. Moving to the company’s European headquarters in Holland shortly afterwards. Before joining JLG, he was marketing director/Latin America for CNH (Case New Holland) Global.

Celli, who hails from Brazil, says that he will remain in the Amsterdam area for at least the next few years. He is looking forward to remaining in the industry as a consultant, using his experience to help rental companies and other businesses that might benefit from his experience.

He has signed a non-compete agreement with JLG, and will therefore not be available to aerial lift or telehandler producers.

Craig Paylor, JLG’s chief executive officer said: “Although we are disappointed to be loosing Israel, we certainly respect his decision to retire and start the next chapter of his life.”

“Since joining the organisation in 2000, Israel has led the growth of our international business from $200 million in annual revenues to projected revenues in excess of $1 billion in 2008. Just as important, he has also built an international team that will certainly build on our success going forward. While there is no question Israel's expertise will be missed, his leadership and development of his team have prepared the organisation to continue our growth globally.”

“I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Israel for all that he has done in leading our international business segments to record levels and the sacrifices I know he has made in preparing the organisation for the future. We will certainly miss our leader and friend and wish him the best as he moves forward with his plans."

Celli says that while he is officially leaving in February, he does plan to attend Conexpo in March,

Vertikal Comment

Israel Celli will be missed, mostly as a high profile polished representative for JLG, his management style of delegating and allowing his direct reports get on with their jobs, often operating in the background and there when needed, should mean a very smooth and imperceptible transition.

It looks as though JLG will not directly replace him possibly with the regional vice presidents reporting directly to Paylor.

We wish him every happiness and success in this new phase of his life.
