Bautas adds spiders

Bautas, the Norwegian based rental company owned by Finland’s Ramirent, has entered the Mini-Crane rental market with four brand new Maeda cranes.

The four cranes include an MC-285 and MC-305 both with diesel and electric power plus two MC-405 diesel/electrics.
The new cranes are being shipped to Norway by Maeda master distributor Kranlyft and will go directly in to service to satisfy the growing demand for such cranes in Norway.

The Ramirent group, which runs a large access fleet including aerial lifts, mast climbers and scaffold alongside tower cranes, entered the mini crane market in November when it ordered 20 Maedas. See Rami adds spider cranes

Lars-Morten Rostad, product manager, said "We chose Maeda due to its reputation of quality and their leading market position. The fact that Kranlyft are behind the product with its vast crane experience, also made the choice easier for us."

Bautas was established in 1997 out of the equipment group of construction company Veideke and has expanded from revenues of NOK80 million (€10 million) in 1997 to NOK1 billion (€125 million) in 2007.
