Conexpo sets new records

Conexpo 2008 broke all of its previous records, including the number of exhibitors, the number of visitors at 144,600, the number of international visitors and the space dedicated to the show.

The most surprising aspect of the event was how upbeat everyone was. After months of negative media reports predicting economic doom and gloom, the North American construction industry turned up en masse and in a highly positive mood.

Most contractors and rental companies we spoke with were very confident of the business prospects for the next 12 months or so and cautiously optimistic for 2009, although there is still some concern for the full year, depending on how 2008 pans out.
