Liebherr launches Liccon2 with blue tooth

Liebherr will launch its latest state of the art mobile crane control system, Liccon2, at Vertikal Days later this month where it will be demonstrated for the first time in the UK.

The Liccon2 incorporates a sophisticated yet user-friendly on-board computer system with a new generation control system and a new colour touch-screen display below the joysticks along with a revolutionary BTT-Bluetooth mobile control unit complete with its own display.

The colour display monitor in the cab featured enhanced readability and clarity, for easier viewing of load indications, warning displays and crane utilisation. The touch-screen displays are provided for comfortable and easy activation of the different operational functions, including the carrier drive and steering programmes, the suspension system, setting up of the crane on outriggers, adjustment of the working floodlights as well as the cab’s heating and climate control.

The new Bluetooth console

The BTT-Bluetooth remote control terminal is likely to be the most popular part of this new system, it provides operators with a wireless and remote system for rigging the crane on site. It includes outrigger activation engine start and stop and speed control with electronic inclination display and automatic leveling during set-up on the outriggers are available as standard.

As an optional extra, a facility to display outrigger ground pressure readouts can also be provided if required.

Using the new BTT-Bluetooth system, the crane driver can attach and detach the hookblock from the front bumper by remotely controlling the hoist winch and boom lift cylinder while in position at the front of the crance with the best of views. This function is an added benefit for the operator because, until now, the hookblock could only be viewed through a mirror or by using additional site personnel for guidance.

The new Bluetooth device can help unhitch the hook

Depending on the crane model, the BTT-Bluetooth feature can be programmed with additional functions such as mounting of swing-on extensions or counterweights. On the 1,200t capacity LTM 11200-9.1, for example, BTT is also used for assembling the boom. Another user benefit is that, during road travel, the BTT-Bluetooth terminal can be plugged into the driving cockpit for the display of mileage and working hours information.
