The Hird Group

In the latest issue of Cranes & Access one of our features covers pick and carry cranes. Peter Hird, of Hull based Peter Hird and sons, features prominently, given the work he has done to champion the emergence of the electric pick & carry crane in the UK and the USA.

We did though make an error regarding which Hird company sells what product, hardly surprising given the rapid growth that the group has maintained in recent years. And the number of products it now represents. Here is a clarification:

Valla Cranes UK, Valla cranes USA and Valla Cranes Middle East are all dedicated to selling and supporting Valla cranes.

CLE - Compact Lifting Equipment, the group’s latest venture has been established to sell new and used cranes and access products in the Middle East, USA and UK. In the Middle East it distributes Jekko cranes, while in the UK the company is set to introduce a new electric pick & carry crane from Jekko. The worldwide unveiling of this machine is planned for Vertikal Days next week. (The Jekko spider lift range is distributed by Jekko UK,).

Finally Peter Hird & Sons continues to grow in the UK selling and renting cranes and access equipment along with an extensive training business. The company has a significant powered access fleet as well as an extensive crane fleet.
