Aeral lift accident victim dies
A rail worker has died three weeks after falling from an aerial lift onto tracks in Margaretting in Essex.
Malcolm Slater, from Harold Wood in Essex, was one of three workers seriously injured when the basket of a rail mounted aerial lift is reported to have broken free of the boom, plunging around five metres to the ground.
Slater, 64, died on Wednesday night after sustaining serious head and spine injuries from the fall.
All three men had been repairing overhead lines on the Norwich to London line, when the accident happened on June 11.
