Another outrigger incident
A four axle truck crane tipped over in the town of Sechelt British Columbia on Friday dropping its load on the housing complex it was helping to build.
The crane, operated by general contractor Knighco, had been on site since March and was lifting a full room module measuring 12 metres by five metres, a lift similar to the previous 18 modules that it had lifted into place. This time though a gus of wind is reported to have caught the module, increasing the lift radius.
It is also clear though from the photographs we have been sent that the crane was set up on gravel with insufficient cribbing. The front outrigger sank in to the ground and surprise surprise the crane tipped over.

Fortunately no one was hurt in the incident.
Amazingly in the same small town on the same day another crane tipped is reported to have tipped over, falling on to a residential trailer. 20 people living in the trailer park were evacuated because of suspected hazardous materials in the trailer concerned.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sergeant Stuart Falebrinza said: "Odours originated out of the unit so for precautionary measures, we have evacuated all the other trailers."
