New 5,000 tonne crane
China Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation (COOEC) and GustoMSC will jointly construct a 5,000-tonne crane that will be fitted onboard a newbuild heavy lift vessel for Seaway Heavy Lifting. The agreement was signed earlier this month and is COOEC's first entry into the construction of heavy lifting equipment.
Construction will take place at a facility in Tang Gu, the port city of Tianjin, China. The crane is expected to be completed in 2009 and will be delivered to IHC Krimpen Shipyard of the Netherlands, where it will be installed on a newbuild mono hull heavy lift vessel. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the first quarter of 2010.
