Port of Hamburg takes another Liebherr crane

Another Liebherr mobile harbour crane is now operational in the Port of Hamburg. Wallmann & Co. has added a second LHM 500 at the beginning of June 2008. The first was installed in 2005.

The new LHM 500 has a maximum lifting capacity of 140 tonnes and a maximum radius of 51 meters. At maxaximum outreach the LHM 500 still has a lifting capacity of up to 42.2 tonnes.

The Liebherr LHM500

With the delivery of the new LHM 500 for Wallmann & Co. the total amount of Liebherr mobile harbour cranes in the Port of Hamburg is up to 10 machines. Other companies using Liebherr include the Buss-Group (4x LHM 400 and LHM 500), HHLA (LHM 150), Rhenus-Midgard (LHM 320) and Unikai (LHM 400).

Liebherr says that it has increased its market share for mobile harbour cranes in Germany to almost 80 percent.
