Crane drops scissor
A 30 tonne P&H Kobelco T330 truck crane owned by Stevensons Structural Engineering of Tokomaru tipped over yesterday while lifting a scissor lift over some scaffolding on the Plaza redevelopment site in Manawatu, New Zealand.
The cranes boom came crashing down onto the scaffolding, but no one was hurt and the damage was largely limited to the scaffold – and possibly the scissor lift?

The crane's front right outrigger appears to have punched a hole in the ground
While the cause of the accident is not certain, it looks as though the ground gave way under one of the outriggers. There is no sign of suitable sized mats having been used.
Plaza owner the Kiwi Income Property Trust said it was waiting for a report from Lockwood Naylor, the principle contractor for the site.
